How We Use Your Information
Service Delivery
We use your information to provide book management, marketing tools, analytics dashboards, and author website features that form the core of AuthorMagic.
Service Improvement
We analyze usage patterns to improve our platform and develop new features. This analysis is done in aggregate and never tied to individual authors.
Communication
We may send you important updates about your account, new features, and platform changes. You can opt out of non-essential communications at any time.
Data Security & Protection
Encryption
All data is encrypted in transit and at rest using industry-standard encryption protocols. Your manuscripts and book data are stored in secure, encrypted systems.
Access Controls
Only authorized personnel have access to personal data, and all access is logged and monitored. We use multi-factor authentication and regular security audits.
Data Retention
We retain your data only as long as necessary to provide our services or as required by law. You can request deletion of your account and data at any time.
One exception is described under "AI Design Assistant" below. Content processed by that third-party feature may remain in the provider's trained models after you delete it here, and that part cannot be undone.

AI Design Assistant
What leaves AuthorMagic
- The website editor's AI design assistant is provided by Puck Cloud (Puck Technologies, Inc.), a third party.
- Files you attach to the assistant are uploaded to and stored by Puck, not by AuthorMagic.
- Images of your page canvas are also captured and uploaded automatically each time you generate with the assistant — this happens even if you attach nothing.
- This applies only to the AI design assistant. The rest of your book data, manuscripts, and site content are not sent to Puck.
What Puck may do with it
- Under Puck's terms, that content may be used to train their models.
- Content already incorporated into a trained model cannot be retrieved or deleted — deleting it here does not reach it.
- Puck may process it outside your country.
What this means for you
If your draft pages contain material you are not ready to share — an unannounced title, unreleased cover art, an unpublished excerpt — do not use the AI design assistant on those pages. Every other editor feature leaves that content inside AuthorMagic.
